The 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk has long stood out as one of Studebaker’s boldest creations, and this particular car has a story to match. Its owner, Craig Piper from Blairsville, Pennsylvania, first bought it as a rough project when he was just fourteen. Over the years, he rebuilt it piece by piece, turning it into the stunning example seen today. The car still wears authentic trim—either new old stock or show‑quality originals—and remarkably, none of its chrome has ever been re‑plated.

Shown at the 2024 MCACN show, this all‑black Golden Hawk carries a distinctive presence with its rich Midnight Black exterior and striking red vinyl interior, creating a bold monotone black-over‑red look. Classic whitewall tires complete the period styling, while under the hood sits Studebaker’s powerful 289 V8 with Stromberg carburetion and a McCulloch supercharger.
