Lindberg Statue Of Liberty 1/225 Scale Model Kit
Originally titled "Liberty Enlightening the World", the Statue of Liberty was a gift to America from the people of France. The steel and copper colossus designed by sculptor, Frederic Auguste Barthodl, and engineered by Gustave Eiffel, was presented to the United States on July 4th, 1884. It was officially accepted by president Grover Cleveland on October 28th, 1886. Construction of Lady Liberty began in 1875 in France, and was shipped to the United States in early 1885.
Formerly known as Bedloc's Island, Liberty Island would be the Statue of Liberty's permanent home, resting upon a pedestal that house the American Museum of Immigration.
